This section maps Green Belt accessibility using distance to rail stations and DfT Public Transport Connectivity. Brownfield development is the most sustainable, but limitations and costs means Green Belt reform has been considered. Environmentally protected and high flood risk sites are excluded. Proximity to rail stations is a basic indicator and does not necessarily mean these are suitable sites for development - most have existing uses.
